Custom Beanies Manufacturer & Wholesale Supplier(11 designs)

Knit beanies are the highest-margin accessory in most cold-weather ranges and the simplest product to brand — which is why they are usually the first style a new label launches. SXMX manufactures custom beanies from our facility in Houjie, Dongguan, China, in acrylic, wool and blended yarns, with cuffed, uncuffed and pom pom constructions. Your branding is applied with a woven patch, leather patch or embroidery. MOQ is 100 pieces per style, sampling takes 5–7 days, and bulk production runs 15–25 days after sample approval. Sixteen years of headwear manufacturing, four production lines and roughly 200,000 pieces of monthly capacity.

Buying guide

Sourcing Custom Beanies from China

Yarn & Construction Options

  • Acrylic knit — the volume seller: soft, colour-fast, inexpensive, and holds a rib structure well
  • Wool and wool blends — warmer and more premium, with the natural texture buyers expect at a higher price point
  • Acrylic/wool blends — the usual compromise between hand feel and cost
  • Cotton knit — for transitional seasons and markets that avoid wool
  • Rib knit, waffle knit, cable knit, fair isle and jacquard patterns
  • Constructions — cuffed (folded brim), uncuffed, slouchy, fisherman (short roll), pom pom, and double-layer with fleece lining

Customization Options

Rib and jacquard knitwear is where a beanie stops being a commodity. Because the pattern is knitted into the garment rather than applied on top of it, the branding cannot peel or crack — and there is no per-colour setup cost the way there is in screen printing.

  • Knit-in pattern — jacquard logos, stripes, snowflake and geometric patterns woven into the yarn
  • Patches — woven label patch, embroidered patch, or debossed leather patch on the cuff
  • Embroidery — flat embroidery on a cuffed band or the crown of a folded beanie
  • Labels — woven hem tag, custom inner label, custom hang tag
  • Yarn colours — custom colour matching on repeat orders
  • Sizing — one-size, or sized runs for markets that need them

MOQ, Sampling & Lead Time

MOQ is 100 pieces per style. We keep the yarns for our standard beanie styles in stock, which is what makes a small custom run practical — a change of yarn colour or an added patch on an existing style is the most economical introduction to a custom beanie programme.

Sampling is 5–7 days after you confirm the yarn, colour, construction and branding method. Bulk production is 15–25 days after sample approval and deposit, with price breaks at 100, 300, 500 and 1,000 pieces.

Why Beanies Are the Best First Custom Order

A beanie has no darts, no buckram, no closure and no multi-panel assembly — so the tooling cost is lower and the lead time is shorter than any structured cap. That makes it the least risky way to test a new brand: you can put your name on a real product, in real quantities, and evaluate how it sells before committing to a full headwear range.

Every beanie we make is inspected 100% before packing — stitch density, patch placement, yarn colour consistency and measurements. Nothing ships without passing inspection.

Custom Beanies: Frequently Asked Questions

What is the MOQ for custom beanies?
100 pieces per style. Because our standard beanie yarns are held in stock, a smaller run is sometimes possible when you are only changing a yarn colour or adding a patch to a style we already produce — ask us with the specific style.
Can you knit my logo into the beanie rather than embroidering it?
Yes. Jacquard knitting produces the pattern in the yarn itself, so the logo cannot peel or crack and there is no per-colour setup fee. The trade-off is resolution: very fine text and small detail are better served by a woven patch or flat embroidery.
What is the difference between cuffed, slouchy and fisherman beanies?
A cuffed beanie has a folded brim at the ear; a slouchy beanie is longer and sits back on the head with excess fabric; a fisherman beanie is a short roll-up with minimal excess. All three are available in our standard constructions and are sampled the same way.
Do you make fleece-lined beanies?
Yes. Fleece lining is sewn inside a double-layer construction for colder markets, and we can add a pom pom, ear flaps or a chin strap. Lining adds a small amount of production time, confirmed at sampling.
How long does a custom beanie order take?
Sampling takes 5–7 days after confirmation. Bulk production is 15–25 days after sample approval and deposit. Beanies are typically the fastest style we produce because the construction is the least complex.
